Lafayette Airport Commission Employment Positions
Purpose, Nature and Level of Work:
Positions in this class are primarily responsible for
maintenance of airport electrical and mechanical equipment, including
automotive, as well as building heating, ventilation and air conditioning
Vocational/Technical School in air condition and experience
with large building air conditioning systems with knowledge of airport
electrical, pavement and other maintenance methods and material.
Certification through Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) approved air conditioning and refrigerant training
necessary to purchase and handle refrigerant.
Able to pass ten (10) year security background check.

The Lafayette Airport Commission operates an airport system that provides domestic air service to the Southwest Louisiana region. The organization consists of seventeen full-time employees in a structure that includes central administration, airport management and operations. In addition to operating Lafayette Regional Airport, the Commission is also responsible for capital improvements.
Police and fire rescue services are provided through contracts with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff Office and Rural Metro Corporation (respectively).
